Operations vs Warfare: choose your first mode

Extraction and large-scale combat ask different things of a squad.

What the official descriptions say

The global site distinguishes Operations from Warfare. The player count above is the PC Steam advertisement, not a universal promise for every mobile or regional mode.

ModeMain focusPlan around
OperationsLoot, survive rival squads and extract. An objective, an exit and equipment you can afford.
WarfareLarge-scale combined-arms combat; the PC listing advertises 64 players.Squad coordination and the active match objective.

A first-session decision

  1. Ask whether your group wants a looting-and-extraction session or a large battlefield match. Agree before comparing weapon builds.
  2. Check that everyone is using the intended global or regional edition and mode. A familiar game name does not establish that the same guide applies.
  3. In Operations, choose a loss budget before deploying. In Warfare, choose a squad task and communicate it.
  4. After the match, record one problem: navigation, equipment cost, aim or coordination. Improve that specific issue before replacing everything.

What this reference leaves open

This is a mode-selection aid, not a tested onboarding walkthrough. Matchmaking compatibility, event rules and regional availability require their own current confirmation. We do not infer them from Steam’s generic cross-platform tag.
