The dates to put on your calendar

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026. Rockstar’s October 15 launch trailer is the latest video highlighted on the official site; the trailer’s arrival does not mean the game is already playable. The store still labels the game as coming soon.

Keep the two November milestones separate: preload lets you download files before release; it does not grant an earlier play date. Rockstar’s support page specifies local midnight for the preload. This article does not convert that into an unannounced global launch-hour countdown.

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are the listed platforms

Rockstar’s current site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Microsoft’s game page separately confirms the Xbox platforms and November 19 release date. Xbox Series S is included in that listing; it is not restricted to Series X.

A PC version or PC release date is not listed in the Rockstar launch material checked for this article. Neither PS4 nor Xbox One appears in the platform list. Do not treat a rumored PC window as a confirmed preorder option.

Check what is actually inside a physical copy

Rockstar’s store describes the boxed version as code-in-box: it contains a download code, with no disc. A box therefore does not remove the need to download the game. The listing says these copies support the November 12 preload.

Rockstar Support also distinguishes editions from formats. Standard includes the game; Ultimate adds a separate upgrade package. Standard owners can buy that upgrade later, and boxed Standard owners must redeem their game code first. Check the platform and account region before buying a code from another country.

What the official footage tells you about performance

Rockstar labels the August 27 Extended Look as footage captured in-game on a PlayStation 5. That establishes the capture platform for that video. It does not give an Xbox Series X or Series S benchmark.

The Xbox game page checked here lists compatibility and release details, but provides no frame-rate or resolution specification. This article therefore makes no 30fps, 60fps or 4K promise. If performance is your purchase criterion, wait for platform-specific information or measured testing of the released version.
