Rebuild the role after the 1.0 reset
The 1.0 update resets existing skill allocations. Before returning to a dangerous area, spend the points actually shown in your save and check the prerequisites on the path to your chosen skill. A planner with more available points than your character is a target build, not your current allocation.

Choose a damage loop before a long shopping list
A useful solo-mage plan answers three questions: how you start the fight, what you do when casting is interrupted, and how you recover before the next pull. Write those answers before selecting distant damage nodes. Keep a wand or another usable fallback in the plan instead of assuming every encounter permits uninterrupted staff casts.
Keen’s 1.0 combat preview describes new spell options including Entangle, Blizzard and Ball Lightning, alongside summon and totem skills. Its Blast and Cast example connects a wand critical hit with a subsequent staff cast. That gives a concrete interaction to examine in your own skill descriptions; it does not establish a universal best allocation.

Compare three approaches
| Approach | What to inspect | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| Staff-focused | Cast opportunity, mana requirement and fallback weapon | Casts completed before you must reposition |
| Wand-to-staff | The current trigger and duration of the interaction | Whether the follow-up cast lands inside the displayed window |
| Summon or totem support | Skill prerequisites and the spell’s actual targeting behavior | Whether support changes your survival or only the displayed damage |
Use the calculator without importing an impossible build
Enshrouded Builds offers a community skill-tree planner and share links. Its visible review label was October 19 when checked, before Hotfix 1.0.0.3. Compare node text and the game build before using a saved link. A site’s point total is not evidence that your character has earned those points.
- Enter or budget only the points shown by your character. Include every connecting node.
- Save a minimum working allocation first, then a separate end goal.
- Check the cast, mana and defensive trade-offs in a repeatable encounter. Change one branch at a time.

Eternal does not mean free mana
Do not confuse a spell’s ammunition rule with its mana requirement. Record both from the current tooltip. If a build fails after two casts, increasing theoretical damage may not solve the resource problem. The short comparison above is an editorial planning method, not a measured DPS ranking.
