Choose the map and mode before the marker

The official Tau Ceti explorer introduces environments. Community map sites add their own tactical layers. Neither a promotional environment page nor an old screenshot proves that a particular exit is currently available to your Runner. Confirm the map variant and the conditions shown in your live match.

Know what the map directory actually covers

TauCeti.gg’s checked map directory listed Perimeter, Dire Marsh, Outpost and Cryo Archive. Bungie separately documents Night Marsh. The four-entry directory should therefore not be described as a complete current map set. Use it for supported locations and retain the in-game map for a missing variant.

October 20 patch: check Vault Breaker separately

Update 1.1.9.5 announces Vault Breaker for October 20–November 10. It notes that some tier-three standard contracts are unavailable in that activity and schedules Sponsored Night Marsh for October 22. Read the current activity card before choosing a contract or assuming an event-specific objective works in the standard mode.

Build a two-exit route

Before enteringDuring the run

Primary extractionCheck the actual activation condition, access and approach.
Fallback extractionReassess if the first exit becomes contested or unavailable.
Inventory allowanceLeave room for the objective and decide what optional loot to abandon.

A repeatable route note

  1. Record map name, variant, activity and patch.
  2. Mark the contract destination and the access conditions you already know.
  3. Plan a primary return and a fallback from the objective, not only from your spawn.
  4. When conditions change, shorten the loot loop before sacrificing the exit plan.
  5. After the run, update only the facts you observed. Do not turn one open exit into a universal rule.

Why this guide does not provide fixed exfil coordinates

We have verified the public directories and official notes, not every live extraction condition. The diagram gives an editorial planning sequence. A map marker’s presence, a successful extraction and a contract completion are separate facts; your live interface decides whether the planned route is usable.
