Check the version before copying a build
Mycopunk uses a grid-based upgrade system. A build has to fit the available grid, so the useful comparison is the complete arrangement, not a list of impressive individual bonuses. The publisher describes mixing and stacking upgrades that fit; that does not establish that every named upgrade is stackable in every mode.

What changed in the October patches
Patch 2.0.2 changed pattern-infusion scaling. Patch 2.0.3 then corrected cases where larger patterns produced the wrong direction of stat change and increased the Gunship Cannon Prism upgrade’s scaling with pattern size. A screenshot taken before those fixes may therefore be a poor guide to the values displayed now.

Record a comparison you can repeat
Before rearranging a working loadout, save an image of the grid and the relevant tooltips. Include empty spaces: replacing a small upgrade with a stronger but larger one can force another part of the build out. Our worksheet is a way to preserve that trade-off, rather than a claim about a best-in-slot arrangement.
| Record | Reason |
|---|---|
| Game version | Separates current values from older screenshots. |
| Weapon and upgrade name | Avoids comparing similarly named effects. |
| Pattern size and occupied cells | Shows both the displayed bonus and the space it costs. |
| Full tooltip, including penalties | A larger positive number can conceal a useful effect that was lost. |
| Other upgrades removed | Makes the comparison about the whole loadout. |
Change one part of the loadout
Choose the problem you want to improve before moving upgrades. For example, if you regularly stop attacking because a resource runs out, record that problem instead of selecting an unrelated damage bonus. Keep the same mission conditions where practical and compare what changed.
- Capture the original grid and relevant descriptions.
- Make one substitution and note every displaced upgrade.
- Compare the resulting tooltips before leaving the loadout screen.
- Use a familiar mission or encounter for an informal comparison.
- Keep the arrangement only if it improves the problem you chose.
Do not calculate beyond the available evidence
The patch notes do not supply a complete formula for every pattern size. We cannot turn them into a universal damage calculator, nor assume that a percentage in one tooltip multiplies every other modifier. Use the values visible on your own equipment and preserve the conditions of your comparison.
If a new arrangement behaves unexpectedly, keep both screenshots. A useful bug report says which upgrade changed, the pattern sizes, the displayed values and the installed version. “My build feels weaker” leaves too many variables open.
Keep unlocking separate from optimization
The October 23 notes clarify that standard employee upgrades drop randomly from any source in the Codex. That clarification is not a guarantee that a particular mission will award the upgrade you want. Plan around equipment you own before treating an unavailable upgrade as a requirement.
