Plan for two players and voice
We Were Here Tomorrow is a two-player, co-op-only adventure. Its Steam description requires both players to have an internet connection and a working PC-compatible microphone. Treat voice as part of the preparation, rather than discovering a silent microphone once the players are separated.

Check the platform pairing
The developer announced Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with crossplay, and Steam lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer. That confirms the supported platform family; it does not establish that every invitation failure is a crossplay failure. Keep account, invitation, version and connection symptoms separate.

A first-session checklist
| Before the session | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Two players | Both can access the game on the intended platform. |
| Game update | Installation is complete and the version is recorded. |
| Microphone | Each player can be heard clearly by the other. |
| Listening setup | Dialogue can be understood without loud feedback. |
| Session time | Both can stay for the agreed section rather than leaving mid-puzzle. |
Describe the evidence before the solution
The official premise gives each player a different role and tool, often with different information. Our suggested communication method is to separate what you see from what you think it means. “There are three red marks above the left door” is more useful than “Press the obvious button.”
Agree on a reference point before saying left or right. If your characters face opposite directions, use a shared landmark or a numbered row. Let one player describe a panel, have the other repeat the important details, then change one thing and report the result.

Use a compact puzzle log
A note can have four lines: location; symbols or controls; the last tested action; the result. Keep observations separate from guesses. If you try several combinations at once, you may discover progress without learning which action caused it.
For a spoiler-light session, agree that neither player will look up a solution until both have described their available clues. If you do use help, search for the current chapter and version instead of reading an entire walkthrough. This is a suggested play style, not a required puzzle sequence.
When communication or progress breaks
If the invitation succeeds but voice does not, record that distinction. If both players hear each other but an object stops responding, record the chapter and both players’ actions. The separate Patch 1.1.2 guide lists the documented loading, voice and chapter fixes without revealing puzzle solutions.
Do you need the previous games?
Steam describes the series entries as standalone online co-op adventures: the stories connect, but playing them in order is not required. For this session, clear communication and the current game’s requirements are more useful preparation than a full series replay.
