Use a trigger-first comparison
Before taking a Gift or Trinket, write the condition that activates it. Then ask whether your current two weapons can meet that condition while keeping you alive. A strong-looking effect that rarely triggers can contribute less than a modest effect that fits the way you already fight. This is an editorial comparison method, not a simulated damage table.
Three documented interactions to inspect
The 0.10 notes describe B-BR0 as building damage through repeated hits and losing it after misses. L-S1S responds to weapon hits. BRRR-T4L provides nearby Brutality support. These descriptions suggest different questions: can you maintain contact, can you trigger often, and can you fight near the support area? Check the exact values in your current branch.
| Effect family | Pairing question | Failure to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Hit-triggered support | Does my normal weapon sequence trigger it consistently? | Long gaps or attacks that do not meet the trigger |
| Ramp through contact | Can I keep hitting this enemy safely? | A missed sequence erasing the advantage |
| Nearby support | Can I stay in the useful area without taking extra hits? | Chasing the bonus into a dangerous position |

Defense can preserve an offensive plan
The same update documents Cursed Armor and Alterattack Mastery. Inspect their current conditions before assigning them the same job: avoiding a hit and retaining chain progression after damage solve different problems. If your build repeatedly fails before it can use an Alterattack, compare a defensive option before adding more damage.
Do not mix beta rarity assumptions into a default-branch build
Motion Twin’s October 15 open beta introduces changes to rarity, Mythic Gifts and other systems. It is an opt-in build. Keep the branch name with any shared loadout, and do not assume a beta item description matches a default-branch screenshot. The developer also advises duplicating a save before using the beta.
