Choose the correct character calculator

Lootlemon currently exposes Borderlands 4 calculators for Amon, C4SH, Harlowe, Loveless, Rafa and Vex. Open the character you actually own and intend to use. A launch-era list of four characters is no longer a complete list of the calculator’s navigation.

Plan around one damage source

For a first draft, write a sentence describing how the build should work: which action provides damage, what keeps it available and what keeps you alive. Then identify which skills directly support that sentence. Gear, class mods and Firmware can alter the result, so a skill-tree link alone is not a complete equipment loadout.

1. Set the calculator’s level and any extra-point options to match your character.
2. Choose the action skill and read the prerequisites of the path leading to the desired capstone.
3. Record the gear or conditional effect that the plan depends on. Mark anything you do not yet have.
4. Use the planner’s share function and keep the game version with the link. Reopen it before spending points in-game.

Vex example: do not mix different jobs

The Vex calculator separates Incarnate, Dead Ringer and Phase Phamiliar. They represent different action-skill plans, so a companion-focused recommendation and a direct action-damage recommendation should not be merged just because both say Vex. Read which effect a bonus actually applies to before counting it twice.

Why the patch date matters

Gearbox’s April 30 version 1.6 notes changed several Vex interactions and companion behaviors. That dated example demonstrates why old showcases need checking; it is not presented here as the latest patch. Use the developer’s current update notes alongside the calculator.
